"Lack of communication"

About: Broomfield Hospital / General surgery

(as a relative),

My mother-in-law was admitted to Goldhanger ward, the care that was provided was very poor. the staff would not listen to the patient and refused her pain relief even through she was prescribed it and was well within her limits at one point they run out of pain relieve and she had to wait until the pharmacy opened the next morning. When she was discharged some of her medication was missing so had to go back the next day to collect it- total incompetence. I raised these points with pals. What a joke. They never phoned back, lack of communication, staff attitude, and poor care. No respect or dignity.

I am very sorry at what your mother-in-law experienced whilst in our care. I will send the your comments to the Matron and Senior Sister. I can ask a member of PALs to call you if you email me directly jonathan.wright@meht.nhs.uk
