I had cause to go to the MIU over a period of time last year and always found the nurses and reception staff to be warm and welcoming. They knew their stuff and I never felt I was a nuisance no matter what.
I had cause to go back again this weekend having knocked my hand causing it to swell and restricted due to a ring I was wearing. The nurse gently removed my ring taking care to ensure it didn't hurt too much. The fingers were then checked to see if they looked fractured and then strapped.
It was explained as it was a weekend they had no X-ray facilities but I could go to A&E if I felt it necessary. I declined and was advised to return in the week if still painful and an X-ray would be arranged.
Would be good if there was X-ray at weekends.
