"Radiology Department - problem re-arranging appointments"

About: Lorn & Islands Hospital

(as the patient),

Recently I received a letter saying that an appointment had been made for an ultrasound and a number to ring if "this appointment is not suitable or you are unable to attend". In the past when this has happened I have duly rung the number spoken to someone in appointments and made a new one on a suitable day and time.

Not this one though. When I rang and said the day/time was unsuitable and could I make another I was simply told that I am now back on the waiting list. This has left me wondering where has Patient Centred Care has gone?

Dear Disgruntled Loch Gilp

I am really sorry to learn about your experience. I'm not sure why this would have happened and I will look into this for you.

Regards

Fiona

Dear Disgruntled Loch Gilp

Apologies for not getting back to you sooner.

I have discussed your concern with colleagues. Usually, when an appointment is not suitable, an alternative appointment is arranged. I am sorry that this was not your experience.

On Monday, or as soon as you can, please ring Caroline Reardon, Medical Records Officer, Tel: 01631 789016 and she will organise an alternative, suitable appointment for you.

Kind Regards

Fiona
