"Treatment of Patients"

About: Broadmoor Hospital

(as the patient),

The staff (although not all staff) should stop treating us like children or even worse like mindless fools, I and others may have mental health issues but by no means does this make us stupid and they certainly have to stop treating us the same because we are not. There is a saying in Broadmoor which drives the patients mad here, and that’s the “Broadmoor way”, in other words its very very slow if you put a request in, because it takes weeks for anything to happen and they should start treating our property with respect because it does not happen at present and I think this is disgraceful.

Dear Frostbite142

Thank-you for your posting, may I apologise for my late reply. I’m sorry to hear that you feel this way; this is clearly not a positive experience for yourself. Moving forward, I think you need to discuss how you feel you are being treated with your ward team and in your ward community meeting. I’m more than happy to meet up with you to discuss this further.

In relation to your second point surrounding property, I agree patient property should be treated with the utmost respect. I propose to highlight this point including any delays surrounding transfer of patient property at the monthly patient forum, so the issue can be discussed and resolved.

I hope this helpful.
