"PAH Harlow & St Margarets Epping - a good..."

About: Princess Alexandra Hospital (Harlow)

Having had numerous chest infections for several years, it was eventually decided to remove nasal polyps which were preventing me smelling or tasting, and clearly blocking airways leading to infections.

I had an operation in May 2015 and have just been seen for my final discharge outpatient appointment. I can now smell and taste things plus I have not had a chest infection for several months so I am a lot better.

I would like to thank the surgical team and the above doctor, not only for making me better, but also for not causing me a lot of trauma post-op - bleeding was minimal and breathing was not obstructed.

In the past, when I have had to visit either hospital, my experience has been good. Having managed teams of people in the past, I know it is as important to praise when it is due, as it is to castigate when someone fouls up. Most people only complain - I am glad to be able to praise. I would add I have no connection to either hospital and have no "axe to grind".

Dear Kevin,

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on NHS Choices.

We are grateful to everyone who leaves comments. What makes your feedback special, is the description of your experience throughout the pathway from the time you initially began to attend after an operation all the way through to leaving the hospital. It allows us to see a rounded picture of the overall service and enables staff to understand where they are achieving.

Thank you, we will ensure this is passed on and the team get your feedback.

Please know that you can always contact the Patient Experience Team if you have any concerns on 01279 82 70 84 between 9.00am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
