i bought my 90 year old mother for a cystoscopy to the endoscopy unit this week
the experience was fairly daunting for a lady of her mature years !!
however the staff were all so kind and caring and helpful from reception to the consultant and all in between -she said that although she won't be asking for a repeat session - it was made much easier by the staff who looked after her -so many thanks
now for the negative part - after having the procedure and leaving the department -unfortunately it was pouring with rain ......big decision a long and uphill walk in the rain to the multi storey car park or and even longer walk and journey either in the lift or up a stairs to entrance 6 ???
the moving of the main entrance is madness .... it inconveniences all of our elderly and frailer patients who find the long walk to the most used departments a big minus and it puts them in serious danger of harm ...
(PS i work in the hospital and we spend a lot of time apologising to our patients about the access issues - the old main entrance has been moved and this is not a good decision)
Management please note and listen to your patients !!
"thanks to urology dept"
