"Nurse went above and beyond"

About: Heartlands Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I attended A&E as I hadn't been very well for the past few weeks. It turned out that I was in fact very poorly, and my blood results were all over the place. I ended up spending 10 days in hospital. I would like to say how fantastic the nurses and doctors were, in particular Emily the nurse who worked on A&e. I was very anxious and I was in a lot of pain, she got me pain relief straight away, asked the dr to see me, she reassured me because I was feeling very anxious and she made sure I went to the ward safely. She was fantastic and kind and caring. I couldn't faulty the A&e for there fantastic care and the medical unit I was transferred too. Outstanding. We need more nurses like them. They go above and beyond and don't get enough credit.

Dear Hazbe

Thank you so much for your kind comments about your recent experience at Accident and Emergency at Heartlands Hospital, and the care and treatment you received from the staff, particularly Staff Nurse Emily, who you found to be very kind and caring.

I'm sorry to read that you were so poorly, but so pleased to learn that you were assessed and treated promptly, resulting in a 10 day stay in hospital.

I do hope that you are feeling much better and will be thrilled to forward your comments and feedback to Hilary Clemson, Matron for Emergency Services, Dr Ola Erinfolami, Clinical Director for Emergency Services, as well as to Gaynor Allen-Mills, Ward Manager for AMU (Acute Medical Unit) and Julia Jackson, Matron for Acute Medicine who will be delighted to read your feedback and communicate it to all of their respective teams. Our staff work extremely hard in often difficult and challenging circumstances to provide quality patient care and I know feedback such as yours gives a great boost to our staff.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to post your feedback, patient experience is very important to us.

My best wishes to you for your continued recovery.

With kind regards

Marie Helebert
