"A and E and ambulatory"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

I visited A and E today as I had bad chest pain. I had a ECG and blood tests done there and then they sent me to ambulatory care. Once there an advanced nurse practcioner was assigned to me and called me in to take my family history and such forth to tell me what would happen and see why I was there today. They were very nice and professional and had a vey good manner. They sent me for a chest X-Ray. I was also seen by a Doctor who again was lovely and explained all my test results in a way I understood. They then asked for further blood tests to check if I had a blood clot and my cholesterol levels to be done. These bloods were taken by my assigned nurse and I watched as they labelled and bagged them and sent them to the lab, at twelve. At two I asked the nurse who was at the reception of ambulatory if my results were back. They said they'd have to check. At 2.30 my trainee ANP came back off their lunch and it appeared they had been sent to tell me that these results had been received but had not been labelled. They were so apologetic even though I said I had seen them label them. They then struggled to get more blood as I am difficult to take blood from. But they managed. And again the two tests were sent and I watched them again label them and send them. At 3.30 a doctor called me in to tell me my results were back Nd luckily I didn't have a clot. But again my cholesterol blood test had not be done or had not been labelled. I informed them I watched them do it. They went down together. They seemed to doubt the nurse. They were one of the best nurses I have come across whilst going to pinders.
