Although throughout my pregnancy the midwives were fantastic, this was not the case upon delivery.
After being induced I stayed on the labour ward for 3 shift change overs, each new midwife discrediting the actions of the previous. My main issues were the lack of midwife intervention- in 12 hours of labour they popped in 3 times provided new sick bowls and left, the incompetence of staff - canular incorrectly inserted and epidural 'topped up' which delayed labour and caused complications to the baby who became stuck and finally the poor after care my baby received as complications were not seen until the following day when the Dr was unable to discharge baby.
All in all a negative service which wasn't expected due to the great care of the midwifes through pregnancy and when using the triage service.
