I was first referred to camhs at about the age of 13. At this time it was when the unit was on Cowely Hill Lane. They put me on medication, gave me a councillor who was fantastic, everything was going great until she left and I was assigned a new one. However, I must say that this one helped me more than the other, she even came into school to me for my appointments. Until yet again, she left. This continued, and I spiralled deep into my depression again on my own.
Things had started off badly, but as the team moved to the previous Peasley Cross Hospital it just began to get worse than I could ever imagine. I went on to see 2 different councillors there (both left) oh what a change. I had been there now for two years and had one session of 'CBT' which consisted of him reading to me off a print out.
Eventually I waited well over 6 months for a new 'care co-ordinator'. Then I didn't even receive a letter to see her, never mind a letter for an appointment with her!
I feel all they have done is give me meds and increase them.
The care I have had from st helens team is poor. For three years I have been suicidal and self harming. They do not seem to care about you unless you say that you are planning on killing yourself- which to be honest I have never said to them because i'm not looking for attention, i'm looking for a way to cope.
