"Birth through c section"

My daughter was breech so I knew I was due to have a planned c section. However, my waters broke 2 weeks early. I went to hospital and was told I would be given an emergency c section. It was very busy and my partner and I were left unattended for long periods of time. My contractions became so bad that I was fully dilated and ready to give birth. Unfortunately there were so many emergency c sections that day, I kept being postponed. We went in at 4 in afternoon and I went into theatre at 1 in the morning. Then it took 2 hours and lots of agonizing pain to get my epidural in. A horrific experience...

The staff were lovely but they were overloaded. This also became apparent after the birth...

Not much assistance with breastfeeding. I felt so guilty asking for help as the nurses seemed so occupied. I assumed it was normal that my daughter cried non stop (hunger) as no one said anything.

It took 8 hours to get discharged as they lost my daughters red book and had to re issue one. Just an exhausting experience which left me with severe postnatal depression, failure to breastfeed and a fear for hospitals. Very strange for my trusting character.
