I visited a&e on the 6th April after being in excruciating pain for the last two days on the left hand side of my abdomen. When my number was called to go to reception the member of staff was very inconsiderate to my pain. the shocking thing was that there were so many people waiting and only one streaming nurse. After about two hours another streaming nurse showed up and it was finally my turn. They asked me what the problem was, took my blood pressure and sent me to the ucc with terrible directions to get there. Whilst in the ucc, I waited for 3 hours and finally when I saw the doctor who asked me what was wrong, took some blood and urine. The doctor also felt my stomach and pressed on the side where the pain was, where I screamed in pain. They said they were going to refer me to the clinic, I thought I was being admitted. No. I was being sent home in complete agony with absolutely nothing for the pain, to come back the next day. I came back the next day and saw a really nice doctor who also took some urine and felt my stomach, where I also screamed in pain and they gave me antibiotics and told me to come back on Monday. To be perfectly honest, I have visited this hospital before to have my appendix out and I can say that I was treated so well. However, on this occasion, the care has been absolutely terrible. I have been left to overdose on ibruprofen to handle this complete agony that I am in, and no-one seems to think it is serious ! Horrible !
