"Wasted space & pavement !"

Been to dept, big reception desk, on 1st floor.Closed, now you book in at a small desk, with no privacy.

Wonder how many rooms could be built in the big open spaces, from floor to roof !

Pavement outside consists of blocks, rocking & rolling all over, with some standing proud from the others!

Soon be a claim going in,for the accidents waiting to happen, & it cost how much?

Thank you for posting your views. The reception desk area on the first floor is surplus to requirements and signposted as not in use as patients book into the building at the large main reception desk on the ground floor. This area is staffed by 3-4 reception staff on a daily basis dependent upon the number of patients expected to attend . There is a barrier system in place for patients to queue and be called to the desk in turn, this also allows for privacy as the barrier is at a distance not too close to the booking in/out area.

Bolton NHS Foundation Trust do not own Bolton One but lease space within this building . The issues with the outside pavement have been reported to the Building Landlord Community Health Partnership and they will carryout appropriate action to address the issues with the outside pavement.

Bolton Strategic Estates Group is currently working with health and care partner organisation to develop plans to improve how building are utilised across Bolton ensuring space is used effectively and efficiently.

Bolton One was designed in line with Department of Health Building Guidance which encourages healthcare environments to be bright and welcoming with good circulation space for patients and visitors.
