"NHS patient but treated like a private patient"

About: Rivers Hospital

Addmitted 4.4.2016 for day surgery with one over night stay for further observations as operation was done later in the day.

From first reception to discharge I could not have been made to feel or be treated any better.

Good quality single room with en suite, TV, telephone etc.

Attentive and pleasent nusrsing staff, HCA's, Catering and cleaning staff.

Every possible service needed to make stay as pleasent and pain free as possible was offered and did not have to be asked for.

Nothing was to much trouble.

Through the night regular monitoring of pain and obs but otherwise a very quiet enviroment giving a restful and sleep friendly enviroment.

No raised voices, phones ringing, unanswered call buzzers or clancking trollies.

This is how i remember hostpital as a child in the 60's.

Orderly, well run and a enviroment aimed at good fast recuperation for the patient.

Follow up 2 days later at outpatients for removal of drain. Just as friendly, proffesional and running on time.

I hope not to be re visiting any hospital again as an in patient anytime soon but if i do then this one would be the bench mark that I would use as a measure.

I suspect Rivers based on my experience will not be beaten.

Do they pass the friends and family test?

YES in every aspect that experienced and saw.

If as an NHS patient you are offered the option of being treated or addmitted here I recomend that you accept.

It is unlikely that you will receive better.
