My partner was induced here for our first baby, and I want to say straight off the bat that I cannot imagine how it would be possible to offer better care and support than what was given by the midwives, doctors, anaesthetists, and support staff.
We came in on Monday and as it turns out we were destined to be here a while (I'm actually writing this on Thursday night while she's asleep, and we'll be having our baby out one way or another by tomorrow, potentially followed by some recovery time). So we've had a chance to meet a lot of the staff as they rotate out, and without exception they have all been friendly, reassuring, attentive (even to muggins here) and competent.
We were pretty clueless as it's our first, and they explained everything clearly so we felt we knew what was happening throughout.
There isn't much dignity in going through all of this what with the prodding and poking, and hauling yourself to the toilet in various states of undress, but the staff have been excellent about making it all feel very matter of fact and made my partner feel really comfortable with it all.
I just can't speak highly enough of the staff (and the facilities are great too) and would recommend anyone who is considering it to have their baby here in confidence that they will be taken care of extremely well.
