"Nurses couldn't be bothered"

About: Liskeard Community Hospital

Took my nearly 3 year old into minor injuries at liskeard this evening as his willy had become very swollen and he was in pain with it, did't want to wait till the morning to be seen. Got seen at reception by a nurse who after explaining the problem asked "could it not have waited till tomorrow to see my sons doctor" and also said "the doctors here are about to leave" so basically this nurse wanted my son to be left in agony over night and couldn't even be bothered to ask the doctor to take a look! Another nurse had a look, was very rough with my son, he was in tears. Was told to take him home and give him calpol and go doctors tomorrow. So my son could have an infection yet I got sent home with him. Disgrace, won't ever bring any of my sons to this 'hospital' again

Thank you for your feedback. We were sorry to hear of the experience you and your son had when visiting the minor injury unit at Liskeard recently. Please contact our Patient Experience Team on 01208 834620 so they can investigate why the standard of care fell below the level we expect.
