"Care and communication"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham / General medicine

(as the patient),

I feel the care and communication is awful. The evening staff came on at 7 and I didn't even know who was looking after me that evening. NOT been spoken to once. Day staff is nearly as bad although as there are more of them so one says hello.

I was lying there in my bed like I didn't exist.

Staff were rude in the day time not all but 50% were. Chewing gum when speaking to you. I feel they don't show respect. Speak about you in front of others. The senior staff are the same i feel so how can the staff follow the example.

Some staff were constantly moaning they were short staffed and staff have left because of staff.

Some staff not getting breaks they are run ragged.

I have been on this ward 4 times and this is the worse I have known it.

I think the ward is dirty and not up to standard.

I feel tablets are never given on time or they never have what you need.

Some nurses running the ward not being able to do anything.

I will be informing CQC about my experience.
