"Long wait times and dreadful staff in outpatients"

About: Leicester General Hospital

Visited outpatients 4 yesterday. Encountered rude uncaring staff. Nursing auxiliary there was dreadful. Did not care about patients and had a dreadful manner. I am a nurse and was appalled at their attitude and lack of care. I was made to feel I should be grateful to be seeing the surgeon as I had asked to see them instead of the physio I was down to see. I had complained about the care with this team previously and it was inappropriate I was with them again. The wait time was 1.5 hours. The auxiliary basically said well its a teaching hospital what do you expect when the surgeon has students!

The consultant was rude beyond words and I was in tears. The care was shocking and one man refused to wait and had to leave. This area and the care are appalling

Dear Annette,

We are really sorry to hear about your recent experience of our Orthopaedic outpatients department. It is unacceptable for staff to be rude to patients and your experience does not reflect the high level of care we expect our patients to receive. Your concerns have been passed on to the Orthopaedics team so the service can be improved for future patients. If you would like to talk to a member of the team about your recent visit, please contact Naomi.Roose@uhl-tr.nhs.uk.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comment. Your feedback is important to us.

Kind regards

Naomi Roose
