"Mistakingly diagnosed with manic depression when in reality I was just very frustrated"

About: South London And Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health

(as the patient),

I've been in the mental health care system since 1986/87. I was arrested and sectioned following a break up in my relationship that made me very upset. I feel I have been mistakingly diagnosed with manic depression when in reality I was just very frustrated.

Subsequently the drug treatment I was given made me increasingly unwell phisically and mentally. I wish something could be done about it as I find myself in a revolving door situation when I would be happy to be properly cared for at home. Thank you
