"World class service"

About: Manchester Royal Infirmary / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I fell whilst walking on Rivington Pike and suffered compound fractures to my right-leg. Mountain Rescue / NWAS recovered me and took me to Bolton Hospital. I was transferred to MRI on the Bank Holiday Monday and following surgery on Tuesday afternoon was discharged from the Emergency Surgery Trauma Unit on Thursday. Mr Shoaib undertook world class surgery and fitted me with a titanium walking cage. I could put pressure on my leg and walk, the day after surgery! Am expected to make a full recovery in three months. The nursing and support staff on the ESTU gave exceptional care; they were attentive, cheerful and positive. All in all, a real thumbs up for this experience of using my local hospital.
