"Very little after care from midwife when I returned home"

About: Blackpool PCT Blackpool Victoria Hospital

(as the patient),

I had my daughter really quick in the hospital car park which caused me to have a ragged membrane.

I thought i had an infection so i took a swab. The midwife returned and told me i didnt have an infection. The feeling got worse but then 5 days after my discharge from hospital no midwife came. A week later i then received a letter from my doctor saying there was a prescription of antibiotics, as i had an infection, to start taking immediately.

It is now 4 months on and i still haven't seen a midwife to discharge me from their aftercare, and still have important notes about me and my child at home, which should be in our hospital records.

Dear belly, thank you for your comment on Patient Opinion. I have contacted the Midwifery Department on your behalf regarding the records that you still have and to discuss your care should you wish. I'm sure they will respond quickly and enable me to pass on contact details to you.

I will post a further comment on the Patient Opinion Website as soon as I have the information for you.

Thankyou very much for getting in touch about my records as i did not know what to do with them.

I know they are very important and need to be with the rest of my records at the hospital but was not sure who to contact.

My aftercare was terrible as i'm due to go back to the doctors as i am experiencing some symptoms that you would if you had a collapsed womb. It's very uncomfortable for me but with 4 children to look after it is something i don't really want to be happening.

Also would like to thankyou for publishing my story x
