i was booked in for gallbladder surgery for the 1st of april. i was to register at the day surgery desk for 7.45 am. the staff where friendly and informative . i was seen almost immediately by the pre op nurse then the Anaesthetist. then the consultan who was to do my operation. i was first in and by 8.30 i was on my way to theatre. although i am was quite anxious all the staff where reassuring and polite. the Anaesthetist and their staff where really friendly and courteous . well next thing i know i am waking up in recovery with a nurse by my side . and its all over, the nurse stayed with me until the porter and nurse from the ward came to collect me. they wheeled me off to the day ward which was in the older part of the hospital. and settled me in . i was given a hot drink and asked if i wanted anything to eat. there where plenty of nurses on duty and all of them where friendly polite and courteous . i was discharged at 4.00 pm given all the advice i needed and was seen to the front door to be met by my wife by the same nurse.all i can say is thank you everyone for making an anxious time for me so bearable
