"Husband's broken back"

About: University Hospital (Coventry)

My husband was transferred to Ward 53 Trauma Unit on Good Friday with a broken back. Everyone on the ward was brilliant especially the HCAs and Nurses.

The Consultant and their team did an operation, he was up walking the next day and going home the day after. It was like nothing had happened. Amazing.

I would never slag off the NHS. They are under-staffed, under-paid and the abuse they get from some people is disgusting.

Thanks for all your amazing care and support this week from a very grateful family xxx

Thank you for providing feedback on your husband's recent experience of Ward 53's Trauma Unit at University Hospital, Coventry in March 2016.

I am delighted to hear that both your husband and yourself had such a positive experience in our hospital.

Your husband's experience describes exactly the level of service and care that we expect, so it is really reassuring to read that he received this in Ward 53 and in our operating theatres.

The Trust is grateful for all feedback, positive or negative, as it means we can better understand what is important to our patients, and your kind comments will be shared with the relevant staff.

Thank you for leaving your comments on NHS Choices, and I wish your husband all the best for his recovery.
