I had a heart attack aged 46 last summer. Bit of a shock but the staff at the CCU in Lancaster were amazing. Within minutes of arriving I had myriad tests and every one was explained by nurses Kim and Rachel which reassured me that they knew how to make me fit again.
I had never been in hospital before and I was pleasantly surprised by the nice room, state of the art monitors and the fact that I was given a phone to call my family.
On the first day I was visited by doctors who said I was going to Blackpool for an angiogram. I Wondered what that was and again Kim came to the rescue with an explanation and BHF booklet.
My experience in the RLI CCU showed me the very best of the NHS service.
I still don't smoke, so thanks again Kim.
