"Double Vision"

I recently had investigations into double vision carried out initially at Blackpool Vic opthalmology then Preston neurosurgery dept. From start to current day, as my care continues, I have been treated with 100 % care, respect, calm skill and loving concern by all staff at both hospitals. The manner of all staff was and is calm, confident, and highly professional, based on knowledge, skills, and purely their personal attributes as caring, concerned professionals who are dealing with usually very scared people. I saw this in their treatment of everybody, from myself to the most vulnerable to those who were more well informed. Each single person is seen as a fragile, yet sustainable, precious life, and each employer there has been consistent, from the person who measured my wee and poo to the consultant who made, and continues to make, decisions about my treatment. I have complete faith and trust in them all and thank them from the bottom of my heart for sustaining my life so that my lovely husband and children continue to have a wife and mum, and that my life carries on being sustained so that my friends and family can enjoy seeing me recover step by little step. These wonderful, caring healthcare professionals have even dabbed away my tears and stroked my hand gently as I cried in relief that neither of my parents were alive to witness a terribly scary series of events that would bring them pain and worry in their own frail, already difficult lives. I am humbled by my experiences of this hospital and Preston neurosurgery, a centre of excellence by name, and well earned. We will probably all at some point need the skill, expertise, love and caring touch of these people, and so take time to congratulate and thank them. They are amazing and they are the people who will uphold and sustain your precious life , so that those who love you can keep you. None of us can anticipate when we will need their help, so we should cherish them and honour them, and fully value them. For they are each also a precious sustainable life- a mother, a wife, a brother, a son - in-law, a child, a friend, a sister, a grandchild. A single, precious, sustainable life who's aim is to help sustain another's. Unique. Loved.
