"discharging my husband without checking on a complication"

About: Princess Royal Hospital / Respiratory medicine

(as a relative),

After 2 days in ardingly ward with breathing difficulties, my husband was discharged one afternoon last week. He could walk perfectly normally when he went in, but when my daughter bought him home I noticed he was having to lift his left leg and throw his foot forward just as if he had had a stroke. He had told a doctor and the ward sister and had to ask for help to get the the discharge lounge. There is something very wrong. WHY did no one check this. He is not right at all and to just ignore him and send him home anyway as it is a bank holiday weekend is, I feel, negligent.

I am very concerned to read of your husband's experience on Ardingly ward. Please contact me if there is anything I can do to help you or you can contact PALS on 01444 448678 or pals@bsuh.nhs.uk.

Best wishes

As I have now made a formal complaint to PALS, as the response from PRH has gone from bad to worse, I do not think it is appropriate for me to contact you, but thank you for the reply.
