"frustrated and angry"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital

After previously, giving a positive review, unfortunately the same cannot be said on this review.

I am currently under a neurologist for Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN). My first appointment was a positive experience I came out of the consultation very satisfied. Then it went downhill quickly!

Given the fact I was supposed to have a 3 month review, 6 months later I am still waiting for an appointment.

So I phoned my consultants secretary, to find out when my next appointment was. They could not locate me on the system really? Even with my hospital and NI number, plus personal details. Can this really happen? Even they were most surprised. Does this mean I was dreaming that I attended the first appointment? My partner reassured me that I did attend.

They went on to put me through to the neurosciences department, who said they would send me an appointment out by post. It may surprise you, but I never received the same. I went on to phone several times, each time getting the same response. Now did the postman/woman eat them, or did the person on the other end of the phone, decided they were not sending any appointments out today?

I feel let down as I am in severe pain and no one else to turn to, as my Gp cannot up my medications. Research TN and you will understand how painful this condition is! I work for the NHS and cannot understand how any person can be treated like this. They have made me feel that I am not important as a patient under their care.

I am sad to say if this is not resolved soon I will be speaking PALS. On top of this I have contacted the hospital, to try and find out which neurologist as an interest in TN, again no help with the same. Get your act together!
