"The attitude of the staff on B5. ..."

About: North Manchester General Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The attitude of the staff on B5. They had a difficult, and at times very trying job to do (including with me!)and performed superbly. Always cheerful, they inspired confidence in me, and my family. From cleaner to Sister the attitude was always positive and at the darkest, most painful times, everyone worked together to encourage me through. I can not praise them all highly enough.

What could be improved

Nothing comes to mind.

Anything else?

Once I had established with the doctors that I was (with four degrees of my own including a Ph.D) able to converse with them intelligently, they included me more fully in 'morning rounds'. It was the only source of irritation initially to lie on the bed and have a conversation about me and my care going on above my head without a word to me. A few well chosen words to the consultant soon changed the situation.
