"Discharge procedure ."

About: Royal Derby Hospital

I was informed by consultant 18/03/2016 that I would probably be discharged next day 19/03/2016. 9-am approx l was informed by a consultant l would be discharged subject to discharge letter being signed by discharging consultant., I waited until approx.2.30pm.

Before being released. I found this waiting to be a distressful experience, surely discharge letters could be signed at the start of the daytime consultants rounds?? If this could be implemented you would not have to feed, and nurse patients, and would allow cleaning staff to carry out their duties without working round patients.

A fabulous Hospital, fantastic nursing staff , I do hope you circulate these comments

To staff of ward 404.
