"awaiting operation date at scarborough hospital"

my 5 year old daughter was referred to ear nose and throat mid year in 2009 to the view of having her tonsils removed we were told to wait and see however as the year went on she was getting terribly ill with tonsillitis every 6 weeks and every time she got ot she got an ear infection temps of 40 which we could not control and kidney infections, so i would keepv taking her back to my gp who then kept sending me to a & e spending a day there and coming home again. in november i had had enough so i went to my gp and got her an urgent referral to e,n.t at scarborough again we got an appointment to see the same specialist who this time agreed to have her tonsils removed. we were told it would be no longer than 18 weeks fair enough and i was told to ring the waiting list in january which i did only to be told there wasn't a list organised yet.

so we are now in week 11 of our wait no sign of any appointment yet with another request from my gp to bring surgery forward. and my daughter is getting tonsillitis every fortnight since the begining of january she has had 1 week of no antibiotics since the begining of the year. and 3 confirmed cases of tonsillitis since we saw the specialist in mid december.

so i would like to know what is classed as urgent and does it work if you keep ringing the waiting list
