I have been on a course of medication for 6 months. Initially it took 3 months to get a referral to this department. To begin with I was confident with my treatment. Then I was seen by a Doctor who spoke to me like a child which I found insulting as there was no need to assume that I did not understand the basic lexis he was using as I had been suffering with this condition for several years.
Soon after I had two appointments cancelled but still had to visit the hospital to pick up medication. Today after travelling 40 minutes to get to the hospital I receive a voicemail informing me that my appointment had been cancelled when I had already parked in the outpatients car park. Both receptionists were helpful with re-arranging this appointment, however i'm appalled that half of my appointments had to re-scheduled due to disorganisation within the dermatology department.
