"Royal free hospital maternity care "

About: Royal Free Hospital

(as the patient),

I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy last year but had an awful time at the royal free hospital in London.

After giving birth I was made to get up off the bed after 20 minutes by the midwife and an assistant and a big syringe of blood went all over the floor and they told me off!

I understand that hospital's are short on beds but that was ridiculous, I could have fainted or anything.

I had my baby at 1am and my husband was with me for the whole birthing experience. After the big event we were taken to the maternity unit where a bed was waiting for me. My husband was told that at 3am he had to go home. We explained that he doesn't drive but they said it was not their problem. So he had to leave the hospital at approx. 3am to get a taxi home.

I also didn't feel comfortable in breast feeding but the midwife's grabbed my breast and shoved it into the baby’s mouth. I didn't say anything at the time as I felt so over whelmed by everything.

I also was on a drip before I gave birth and the tube was left in my hand for the FULL two days I was there and it didn't mean to be. It was bleeding and no one came to take it out until my mother came in and said something.

For many weeks after to think of the way I was treated made me cry.

I understand that all hospitals are busy but treat people the way that they deserve to be treated.
