"Update on negative experience from yesterday."

About: Royal Hampshire County Hospital

Yesterday I posted a negative review regarding a wasted trip to see if I could get more info on a forthcoming MRI scan on the Mobile Scanner.

Today I had the scan.........

It was made really comfortable by the two people from Alliance Medical operating the Unit and I feel obliged to post this review to offset the negative one I posted yesterday.

When one of the staff came to fetch me from the waiting room I explained my fears (Claustrophobia etc) and they were extremely helpful and comforting.

They explained I was under no pressure to go through with it and then took the time to explain the procedure and then let me "try" each stage.

Lay on the table, place Head Coil on, then enter tunnel without then with Coil.

Not until I was really ready did they proceed.

Thankfully I did manage to complete the scan and the staff member even congratulated me at the end which was uplifting.

Full marks for them both helping me through this.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback on NHS Choices. I am pleased that this visit was more acceptable than your previous one and that you have had the scan successfully. I have shared these kind words with the team involved, who I am sure will be delighted and greatly encouraged by them.
