About: Options for Independence (Care Home)

(as a service user),

The management has informed us that the bosses have decided to stop funding the Red Cross and Options for Independence. This is why am writing to you and ask for your help before is too late. You see, if the Red Cross can’t find someone to take over the service it will close and lots of people are going to be affected by this decision. Lots of staff will lose their job and our home and stability. Most people see the service, but I want you to know it is so much more. Its love, care, protection and the opportunity to be a human being: we are a family.

I understand and respect that you are very busy but I hope you take the time to read this.

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I hope to hear from you very soon.

Hello Steph62,

As Manager of the Service I would like to keep you up to date.

Red Cross is still actively seeking a purchaser for the buildings and service.

I continue to attend meetings, now weekly with Social Services and Housing Departments as well as Red Cross colleagues to seek a resolution to the matter.

As ever, if any other information comes to hand re the sale of the service/buildings then I will pass on this information to all involved as soon as it is known.
