"Feeling misled by Suffolk mental health services"

About: Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust / Assertive outreach Suffolk Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust / Assertive outreach

(as other),

I have been invoved in mental health services for over 12yrs.

Since being involved with Suffolk Mental Health Trust I feel I have been misled with information and basic care has been scant.

I have made several adjustments to keep and maintain a working rapport, in all essence the unit in Thetford have not made any compromise. For example, residents living closer to Bury have to travel to Thetford which is known locally as a transport non-starter, and with the drs based at Bury St Edmunds it really is a simple conclusion.

The system doesn't seem to work with you, it works against the people having known symptoms. If you put a complaint in, basically it is not open and the manager/ess is the line manager and a non-objective panel, which backs the staff member without face to face with the complaintee. The result leans towards a view that you are wrong.

Also why is it so hard to find specialised psychotherapies such as behavioral therapies? I asked if a referral was possible. The answer was "the trust can't afford it". So when is a person's health less important than the trust's budget?
