"Thanks to the Staff at the Hospital"

About: Royal Preston Hospital

I was admitted the your hospital on Wednesday 9th Mar 16 following a suspected stroke.

From the onset of the incident when the paramedics arrived straight through to my discharge on 11th Mar

I have nothing but praise for all the staff involved in my care.

Their professionalism and empathy were beyond anything I have encountered when using the NHS.

I cannot name names as I visited three departments during this period, A&E, MAU and finally Cardiology which was my last place before discharge.

I do have one negative point, I was in formed when I left A&E and moved into the 'yellow' area I was NIL by mouth as a SALT test had be conducted. This never happened and I was left without food or fluid until my evening meal which I think didn't help my recovery.

I would like you to again thank the staff who cared for me.

Yours sincerely

JM King

Thank you for taking the time to tell us of your experience at what was obviously a very worrying time for you and your family. It was extremely pleasing to hear that the care you received was of the high standard we aim to provide for all our patients. Please be assured that your kind comments have been shared with the staff in the departments concerned.

I was sorry to hear that your SALT assessment did not take place in a timely manner and have shared your feedback with the relevant senior staff to ask them to consider any actions that can be taken in relation to your comment for the benefit of future patients.
