"The staff were amazing"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital / Accident and emergency Stoke Mandeville Hospital / Paediatrics

(as the patient),

I took my daughter to Stoke Mandeville A and E this evening. Although the wait was long (nearly four hours) the staff were amazing. We were in the kids waiting area which was full. Patients waiting in corridors and standing in hallways. However every member of staff was working hard going over and above their role whilst babys were screaming and really poorly. The triage nurse Elspeth  was trying to see patients swiftly and had to have a colleague tell her to go home as she could see it was busy and wanted to help. Thank you Stoke Mandeville for being amazing especially the Paediatrics team.

Thank you so much for posting your lovely comments following your daughter's attendance at the A&E department at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

It is really pleasing to learn that you felt that the staff were amazing who treated your daughter at what must have been a particularly worrying time. Especially in what you describe as a busy and full department.

It is really rewarding to hear of when staff worked well together to provide a high level of service and I will gladly pass on your lovely comments to the A&E department, especially the Paediatric team, for recognition and encouragement.
