"My mother's heart attack"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital / Cardiology

(as a relative),

My mum is 87. On 20th January she had chest pains. She was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital and a stent fitted - with local anaesthetic - within a very short time. She was very happy with the nursing care. But she was discharged with 9 different tablets to take. They gave her terrible diarrohea. It was nearly two weeks before the GP was told that she had been admitted, and longer before anyone attempted to sort out her medication.

All the GPs I talk to say it is not uncommon for the hospital to take weeks to send them a discharge letter.
