Now fourteen weeks since my triple heart bypass. Rushed to Glenfield from Lincoln Hospital, two days later the operation took place. Staff were very supportive and caring. Six days later l was discharged home. Six weeks later l was seen for a full check up back at Glenfiled Hospital, all was going well and l was discharged, my next review will be back at Lincoln Hospital in twelve months time.
My major worry is at ten weeks post op. My chest scar developed two small openings, following a burst swelling in the same area. Pus has now been discharging for four weeks, dressings are being done daily, GP has been monitoring the wounds, and finally gave me some antibotics, but the wounds are still the same. Being a diabetic , plus having such a big operation, lm worried at what is going on. Feel frustrated and at a loss of who, bar GP, to be able to contact to investigate further. Feel that a contact person should be made available longer than six weeks.
