I recently accompanied my mum to her appointment for upper limb surgery within the Surgical Day Unit and I was delighted at the level of treatment she received.

I work for the NHS in a neighbouring trust and undertake regular mock cqc visit, and was very impressed to see the staff in the Surgical day Unit treated my mum with very high levels of care and compassion.

At the age of 85, she was apprehesive of the procedure and the staff did everything in their power, to reassure her and keep her occupied during the time before her slot in theatre, during the procedure and whilst recovering in the bay.

Many thanks to you all, you certainly made an excellent impression.

An additional note of thanks should also be noted as you managed to keep your operating list going on day 2 of the junior doctors strike.
