"From the minute we took my baby ..."

About: Chorley & South Ribble Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

From the minute we took my baby granddaughter into the hospital to the minute (six hours later, once stabilised) that she left in an ambulance for Manchester Children's Hospital, the staff at Chorley hospital were absolutely wonderful. The patient was their priority, but they took time to reassure and support us during her treatment. We were kept informed at every step of the way. All the staff worked exceptionally well as a team, discussing options for treatment and overcoming difficulties in a calm and measured manner. The staff went out of their way to provide directions to Manchester Hospital, but first checked we were in a fit state to travel. Our family could not have asked for or received better treatment. The team were fantastic. Many staff stayed on long beyond their finishing times just to ensure continuity of provision. I admire the hospital immensely. Without their quick response, the outcome would have been tragic. Thank you to all.

What could be improved

Nothing

Anything else?

Our granddaughter was born in the hospital in June 2009 and the treatment she and the mother received there was wonderful. Chorley is a family orientated hospital that should be celebrated for quality of care it provides.

Thanks for your comments. Hearing about positive experiences really motivates our staff, and helps us identify where we’re getting things right so we can share good practice across all of our services.
