I have been treated for age-related macular degeneration for four and a half years at a hospital in the Midlands and was satisfied with my care.
Having recently moved to Liverpool, I had my first referral to the Ophthalmology Department yesterday and couldn't quite believe how much better my treatment was there.
In the morning I was seen by five different specialists, including the consultant, and moved seamlessly from one to another without any delays.
Then in the afternoon I was given my injection.
In the past I have had to wait up to 8 weeks between consultation and injection.
I found the whole process efficient and well organised as well as the friendly, reassuring approach from all the staff I had contact with.
I feel very fortunate to be in their care from now on.
