"Simple signage and letter headings please"

About: Broomfield Hospital / General medicine

(as the patient),

I visited the hospital for a hysterosalpingogram (Broomfield, Chelmsford X-ray department)

Firstly, the letter said 'Radiology' but I found there were no signs to radiology and as I have been diagnosed with dyslexia this posed a problem. The front of house staff also did not know where radiology was. Had my husband not been there and made the connection doubtless I would have found out from someone eventually then maybe miss my time slot. I digress;

NHS simple signage and letter headings please.

Suggestion: Your appointment is in the X-ray department

Not: your appointment is in the radiology department

Second point, I was injected with a liquid during the procedure after which I had intense pain. Instead of allowing me to stay on the couch even for ten minutes, I feel as if I was turfed out immediately. I think a more humane method and a little sympathy would have been welcome, especially if I had not had any support or someone who was able to bring the car near the exit.

Suggestion: a department monitored 'recovery' area for each department or 'cluster' of departments for those who are nervous, have a psychiatric condition or require more reassurance I think would be more helpful.
