"Support to families of Anorexic Teenagers"

About: Bucks Cahms

(as a carer),

My Daugher has Anorexia and has had for more than 2 years. Since the day she was diagnosed the mental health teams have ploughed their efforts into finding a link between her illness and the dynamics of our family, in my opinion they're looking to find and prove abuse of some kind where no exists.

We are just an ordinary family with a child with a terible and extraordinary illness.

As far as I'm concerned they have never offered a word of kindness or support, just suspicion and accusation. Any request for additional help is met with 'if you cannot manage with the current level of help we should remove your daughter into care, where better funding exists.' Care and support should be the order of the day not consistent accusations and witch hunting.

We just have an unwell child we are not all monsters or child abusers. Please medical team consider what you say and how you behave, life is bad enough without the constent threat of having your child removed.
