"Necessity for further surgery after rectopexy"

About: Hereford County Hospital

I had a rectopexy on the 23 rd February 2016. Surgery appeared to go well and I was discharged two days later. On the 3rd march I was returned to he hospital in extreme pain. I underwent some investigations only to be informed that I was suffering from a strangulated omental hernia caused by a problem with the surgery on the 23 rd February. I would never returned to this hospital. My treatment as a patient was both shabby and shoddy. I was discharged unceremoniously on the day after the hernia repair. The district nurse who came to see me yesterday was more than a little surprised that no closures had been used to seal the wound site and they applied steristrips o the wound to keep everything together.
