"You should rethink your cancellation policy"

About: Merseyside

(as the patient),

I can’t begin to tell you how disappointed I am

I left my old doctors, with great delight, after I overheard reception staff talking in detail about patients.

Luckily due to me moving address it was easy for me to pick a new doctors, even though with my epilepsy I don’t like change or inconsistency

I looked at reviews etc. before picking and that’s why I picked ropewalks, the reviews were high compared to others

I met with a doctor - who wanted to talk to be about my tablets even though for 15 years I’ve been taking them - this seemed a waste of time. I also discussed with him my depression over my weight. Although not being a perfect eater of foods I am not terrible either, all my bloods were perfect in November when I had them done which encourages my theory.

This doctor thought I should meet with a dietician colleague of his. I took the half day off work to meet this dietician. I gave a courtesy call to let reception know I may be 5 minutes late but I probably wont - the receptionist very sharply suggested if I’m ten minutes late this dietician will refuse to meet me.

I feel that it is disgusting to speak like this to someone who is feeling depressed about their weight, and who is meeting a dietician. It’s unacceptable to suggest the meeting will be abandoned if the patient is late by ten minutes.

I felt so humiliated on Friday, I felt rejected, and although I was on time for my meeting I was no way sitting with someone who treats people suffering with an illness in that way, I suggest you re-think your policy.
