"Spinal Cord Compression"

About: Kent & Canterbury Hospital

I was admitted on 10/2/16 and went home on 29/2/16 for investigation on the reason for 2 falls at home, I had an MRI scan and chest x-ray on the 11/2/16 followed by the first of 5 treatments using radiotherapy the first was on 12/2/16 the last on 18/2/16.

As far as I can tell this was successful, I am now pain free and working with Physio's to regain some mobility.

Most of the nursing staff were wonderful and the food was really good too. I would like to give special mentions to three of the nurses, they were efficient and compassionate. Other services seemed to link well with the nursing e.g. occupational health, physiotherapy. There seemed to be a problem with Pharmacy and there was a glitch there over my hormone therapy.

The cleaning seemed perfunctory and lacklustre could do better here.

I was aware that the ward was very short of staff at times, particularly over the night at the weekend.

Dear Mr Bell,

thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to post your feedback. Thank you for your comments regarding the pharmacy department, staffing and cleaning. I will make sure the departments are made aware, and we will keep a close eye on the cleaning standards. We do monitor these each day, so appreciate your feedback as well.

I do hope your treatment continues well and that you continue to feel better.

Best regards,

Sally
