The staff in the antenatal were great so thankfully through my more painful part the staff were there to praise and reassure me. I had a difficult delivery which resulted in my newborn baby girl and myself to have an infection and have to stay in for antibiotics. As the days went on the staff issue got worse.
A baby doctor came in to tell me my newborn would have to have a lumbar punch as the infection levels were still 'a bit high' then proceeded to throw the word Meningitis around like it was nothing, leaving me completely petrified for the wellbeing of my new daughter.
Staff were too complacent in every aspect of my stay (which I am still having to endure) and just showed that 75%of them are just working in a hospital with families and newborn babies to draw a wage.
I am utterly disgusted that we apparently pay our taxes for NHS so we can pay these people to sit on swivel chairs texting their boyfriends and telling each other about their friend's weight gain and how someone's hairline has changed since they hit 40.
I deserve the care that I am paying my taxes for.
