"Experience of Thornbury Hospital following hip..."

About: Thornbury Hospital (Sheffield)

Felt like a participant in a peep show.

My room was directly next to the entrance to the ward so with the door open everyone looked into the room.

Unbelievably strong spring on both the door to the room and the bathroom. The bathroom door caught me in the hip a number of times when I attempted the bathroom on crutches. Not great following a hip operation.

No raised toilet seat.

Very little help from staff to help or retrieve things if I had dropped them on the floor.

Large throughput of agency staff. Very few staff members were seen more than once.

Good food and helpful catering staff.

Great consultant and anaesthetist.

Conflicting information on discharge.
