On Saturday 6th February my very unwell, 79 year old mother, was admitted to the AMU, moving onto ward 17 at midday on Monday 8th February. When Mum was admitted my four sisters and I had no idea what was the matter except that she was unwell and we had called Shropdoc out to her. The doctor discovered that h BP was very low and ordered an ambulance who took Mum to Telford.
Mum, my sisters and I would like to say a huge thank you for the care that Mum received, it turned out that she had sepsis and pneumonia, DNR wishes were discussed as it was very serious.
All of the staff, from the Shropdoc doctor right through to discharge, were extremely professional and delivered person centred care whilst preserving Mum's dignity. The consultant also spoke to myself and two of my sisters to keep us informed and, however much we must have got on the staff's nerves, nobody was anything other than kind to all of us.
Mum is now home and recuperating well.
Heartfelt thanks from us all.
